Argentine Flower Calendar: Which Flowers Are in Season Each Month
Buying in season is the simplest way to spend well: it costs less, lasts longer and smells better. The problem is that almost everything that comes up when you search is written for the Northern Hemisphere. This calendar is for Argentina.

The ones available all year
Thanks to greenhouse production and imports from Ecuador and Colombia, these are never missing:
- Roses — guaranteed availability all twelve months.
- Gerberas — color, always.
- Alstroemerias — the most consistent in price and quality.
- Carnations — always available and always affordable.
- Lilies — staggered production all year.
- Chrysanthemums — peaking in fall, but present year-round.
The short windows
There are two worth writing down because they’re easy to miss: peonies have just a few weeks between October and November, and locally grown tulips run from August to October. Outside those windows, either there are none or they’re imported at a very high price. If someone promises you peonies in March, ask the price before getting excited.
When demand breaks the calendar
- February 14: red roses skyrocket. Book 7 to 10 days ahead.
- Third Sunday of October: Mother’s Day in Argentina, the trade’s annual peak. Book two weeks ahead.
- November 1 and 2: high demand for chrysanthemums.
- December: weddings, events and year-end celebrations all at once.
Availability of each flower changes with the season. If you are looking for a specific flower, ask us before ordering and we will confirm whether we have it.
