Messages to send with flowers

One note before the list: a message of your own always wins. These are for getting unstuck when your mind goes blank, and they work much better if you change something so they sound like you.

Romantic

• "I don't know how to write these things. But I do know I love you."
• "Any excuse is good enough to send you flowers."
• "I hope this finds you well and makes you think of me."
• "I'm still amazed at how lucky I got."
• "We have many years ahead together. Let's start with this week."

Friendship

• "Just because. Because you've been here for twenty years."
• "No reason. Just so you know I'm thinking of you."
• "Happy Friend's Day. We owe each other a dinner and you know it." (Friend's Day is celebrated in Argentina on July 20.)
• "For your new home, from someone who will be visiting often."

Thank you

• "Thank you. In capital letters, no beating around the bush."
• "For putting up with me last month. I won't forget it."
• "This doesn't come close, but I wanted you to have it."
• "Thank you for making everything work."

Birthday

• "Happy birthday. May this year be on your side."
• "One more year and you're still the best part of the group."
• "Enjoy it. You deserve it."

Encouragement

• "A little color while this passes."
• "No need to reply. I just wanted you to know I'm here."
• "Take all the time you need. We'll be right here."

Condolences

This is the case where improvising is least advisable. It has its own post: condolence messages.

How to make any of these your own

Add one concrete detail: a date, a place, something that happened. "Thanks for putting up with me" is generic; "thanks for putting up with me last month" is not anymore, and only a few words changed. That is all the work it takes.
